People come for Biodynamic Craniosacral therapy for many reasons. Physical injury, stress, insomnia, bowel issues (constipation).

Biodynamic craniosacral therapy with Ali is a one hour session where after a short chat you are invited up onto the therapy table (clothes on). I will cover you with a blanket if that feels right for you for comfort. I use a gentle, light hold. I usually come into contact at feet/ankle area and work up the body as I feel the need. Some hold may be knees, sacrum, lower back, belly, shoulders etc. I usually finish the session with a few head holds. 

I work with the body to help calm the central nervous system, the connective tissue and the tension in muscles, ligaments. Helping to bring wellness and ease.

Whilst one session is wonderful to feel relaxed and well it is a good idea to do regular sessions to help heal the body and mind. Session plans can be discussed with Ali.

People generally feel very relaxed. In deep rest. Not asleep but at deep ease. Some people feel like their body is moving gently. This is the connective tissue and fascia seeking the right place to be. Releasing old injury and trauma.

Every body wants their baby to feel calm and settled and at ease.

Parents usually bring their baby if they are not sleeping, feeding so well, wind, crying, not able to put their baby down, constipation. To discuss the birth story and bring some calm into the day and the home.

The session is 1.5 hours long. We take time to explore the pregnancy and birth and feeding journey. Both parents are welcome if that is feasible and feels good. When the time is right I will come into contact with the baby's body to see where the tensions are being stored. My hands are in gentle, light touch with your baby. I do NOT adjust or manipulate your baby’s body. Baby's being so new can uncurl their bodies and tension. Knowing that Mother and baby are so closely aligned I usually invite the mama up onto the therapy table with the baby and I do a hands on session for both. Babies respond so well to craniosacral therapy and parents usually see a change in their baby after one session. Depending on the age and story of the baby it may take a few sessions to see change.

Children usually come for sessions because of anxiety, poor sleep, constipation, head aches.

Children are naturally curious and also protective of their personal space.

A session with a child usually starts close to mum or dad. Chatting. There are toys and books which might call them to play. While they sit with Mum/dad I in time ask can I come into contact with their body. Feet, back, belly head. SOmetimes they will like to lie on the therapy table and have stories read to them or rest with Mum/Dad. It may take a few sessions for children to feel safe enough to receive the actual body work but many parents report a change in their child after what may seem like a play and chat session.
